The Web was for some time my favorite place to go in New York City. My visit was on a Friday, January 2, 2004, and my last was in September 2012. Shortly after that last visit the club closed "for renovation." And that was the end of The Web.
The Web was at 40 East 58th Street, between Park and Madison Avenues. The entrance was a stairway down to a below grade space, and was tucked away next to a fancy restaurant called Tao.
I miss The Web. I'm still in touch with many friends made there by way of Facebook, and occasionally see them at other clubs. But it's just not the same :-(
